2026 Child Abuse Prevention Month & Sexual Assault Action Month!
Highlights from PCA Oregon and our partners during CAP Month 2026!
We kicked off CAP Month by joining CAP Collab members at the Oregon Head Start Conference! PCAO staff facilitated a breakout session called Exploring Community Prevention Strategies and Trauma Responsive Training, which focused on how disability justice prevents violence and abuse. We also shared about our online course - Trauma Responsive Training for Providers working with Children and Families. Thank you, Oregon Head Start, for including us at the 2026 conference!
April 10th was Wear Blue Day for Child Abuse Prevention Month!
Blue represents possibility, strength, and the future families deserve. PCA Oregon staff got together in person to show off our best blue outfits!!
Wrapping up CAP Month 2026
We travelled to Corvallis and joined parenting educators across the state to connect, learn, and celebrate the incredible impact that Oregon Parenting Education Hubs have on children, families, and communities. We even had the opportunity to share about PCA Oregon’s Mapping Assets for Prevention (MAP) Oregon project and host a shared resource table in partnership with CARES NW, Protect Our Children and Sexual Assault Task Force (SATF) to offer a variety of resources to serve parents and children!
The pictures above are of the shared Resource Table at the OPEC conference! On the right is the MAP Oregon board game, which includes child-friendly questions that prompt reflection and exploration of protective factors in local communities.
Reach out to our Collaboration Coordinator if you have an interest in learning more about the MAP Oregon game! maporegon@preventchildabuseoregon.org
