PCAO Staff and Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Collaborative members walked the halls of the Oregon State Capitol this month to advocate for the Early Childhood Coalition’s 2026 Session Priorities!

During the first quarter of 2026, Prevent Child Abuse Oregon was proud to support one of our Child Abuse Prevention Collaborative (CAP Collab) members in leading a community-based prevention project focused on sexual health education and dialogue in the Beaverton area.

PCAO kicked off CAP Month by joining CAP Collab members at the Oregon Head Start Conference! PCAO staff facilitated a breakout session called Exploring Community Prevention Strategies and Trauma Responsive Training, which focused on how disability justice prevents violence and abuse. We also shared about our online course - Trauma Responsive Training for Providers working with Children and Families. Thank you, Oregon Head Start, for including us at the 2026 conference!
